Reconciliation

A traditionally sacred place of healing for Indigenous peoples

As indigenous peoples, we believe we are the ones who will help our shared society with reconciliation, because regardless of the human error experienced at residential schooling, we continue to maintain our faith.

That’s why this pilgrimage is so important to us as a faithful group. This is why Pope Francis came here, to the lake, and it is why he timed his pilgrimage of reconciliation to take place during the annual pilgrimage.

We want to continue the legacy of our ancestors. They paved the way for us.
